SUMMARY The Life Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the overall design, administration, development, training, overseeing and implementation of established standards of the Life Engagement Community program at their facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Drives all aspects of the Life Engagement Community Program for their facility to achieve program standards using an interdisciplinary team approach Educates facility leadership on program standards and focuses on perpetually advancing program initiatives Assists with selecting and hiring Life Engagement Community staff Responsible for appropriate admissions to the Life Engagement Community based on admission criteria Provides specialized training to Life Engagement Community staff Ensures memory care techniques are practiced during care Implement use of non-pharmacological, person centered approaches as appropriate Drives team implementation of stage appropriate/person-centered activities Offer family member support and education Ensures environment supports meaningful engagement Attends meetings/conference calls as appropriate Ensures all care documentation is completed in a timely manner Participates in community marketing and program development initiatives Demonstrates team leadership skills at all times Other duties as assigned, pertaining to the Life Engagement CommunityENTRY QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor degree or higher'in health sciences, humanities, human services or related field preferred If no degree, 2
years' prior experience working in dementia/geriatric care Minimum 1 year in leadership/management role preferred Demonstrates initiative and autonomy Competent in use of computer systems/audio-visual equipment Demonstration of excellent communication skills Dedicated to excellence in resident care and quality of lifePHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear.
Employee will occasionally assist to lift and / or transfer patients weighing between 100 to 250 pounds.
Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
